Discussion wih your institution
A valuable outcome from your self-assessment will be the identification of various areas which you may seek to explore further. These can help to form an integral part of any personal discussion with the Chair of your board or the Secretary/Clerk to the board, as the need arises or possibly at an annual 1-2-1 meeting.
Your development plan should not be seen as a one-off event. It will be more of a continuous development programme which will act as a guide over your term(s) of Office. After learning more about the world of Higher Education, you will be able to see how further development will add to both your personal goals and those of the institution – perhaps taking responsibility as Chair of the board.
